Novapoint Virtual Map is a tool for visualizing and modeling our built
environment, civil engineering designs and geographic information. Virtual Map
scales up from small construction sites to wide city and rural areas. Creating
advanced visualizations and virtual models with Novapoint Virtual Map is an easy
and interactive process.
Novapoint Virtual Map creates virtual models automatically from civil
engineering designs and maps. Virtual models make the design process more visual
and enable the possibility for advanced visualization with ease and efficiency.
The virtual models are best viewed with the accompanying Novapoint Virtual Map
Viewer software.
Novapoint Virtual Map models can be published on the Internet using Novapoint
Virtual Map ActiveX viewer. The viewer is free and installs automatically when
visited on a web site with a Virtual Map model. With this viewer users can move
freely inside the model with mouse, keyboard and joystick. It is also possible
to save viewpoints, images and animations from the models.
Project presentations in visual 3d/vr format
Understanding decreases opposition
Design quality, safety and environmental fitting analysis
Conflict and error analysis
See the design from car, pedestrian or bird perspective
Free real time movement and image or animation (AVI) saving
The virtual model is opened inside your browser with the settings defined by
the model creator. From this point you can start moving around the model and
using Novapoint Virtual Map ActiveX viewer functionalities.
On the top left corner you can see a small box which is called a control
window. If you don't see it, you can turn it on / off by pressing
"TAB". Control window opens bigger with more options if you move
mouse cursor on top of it. In the control window you can access most of
Novapoint Virtual Map ActiveX viewer functionalities.
You can start moving in the model with your mouse by pressing it's buttons.
Mouse cursor position on the screen defines the direction and speed of movement.
Start from the center of the model where movement is slowest.
Left button: move in the view direction (left, right, forward, back)
Right button: move parallel to the view direction (left, right, up, down)
Middle button: turn camera without moving (left, right, up, down)
Wheel: tilt camera (up, down)
Button combinations allow more complicated movements
If you are using joystick or car driving wheel & pedals you must first
activate the joystick mode by pressing "%" or selecting "Enable
joystick" from the menu.
With follow ground (press "f" or select from control window) option
you can keep yourself on the ground and adjust your viewing height with
"+" and "-" keys.
You can find information about additional program functionalities in the
program Help (see the "?" button on the toolbar). The help covers the
whole Novapoint Virtual Map product so not all functionalities are available in
the ActiveX version of the viewer.
